A couple of years after graduation I moved just south of San Francisco. I attended a modeling academy
there and after a year or so, moved back to Iowa. After a few different job opportunities, I decided on
the financial services industry. My career opportunities took me to Merrill Lynch in Austin, Texas, and
then I accepted a position as Vice President, Compliance Officer for complexes in Atlanta, Georgia,
Baton Rouge, Beaumont and southeast Texas, and Indiana. Finally, I retired from Merrill Lynch to take a
position as President and CEO for American Equity Capital which brought me back home. I retired for
good about 5 years ago. I have two sons and a granddaughter. I was single for 16 years before I married
Larry 23 years ago. We have traveled extensively and enjoyed every minute of it but are now content to
travel within the US. Urbandale is where we planted ourselves for good. I am a genealogy nut. I’ve
completed three books of my ancestral lines back to Ireland and Sweden discovering so much about
Boone in the process. I am an avid reader of all John Grisham books – read them all. And since Roku has
come into my life during the pandemic, I have been catching up on “Blue Bloods” among other ‘90’s
shows I missed while working and being a single parent. God has blessed me with so much. Growing up
in Boone was one of them.
