I retired from the Super Target in Ankeny after 14 years as the head baker. My family all live close by so this gives a chance to see them often. The grandkids all have busy lives so it can be difficult at times to get them all together at the same time!

My oldest daughter Wendy Shadle Miller and her husband Steve live in Maryville Missouri. They have twin daughters that turned 14 on July 8th, their brother Jonah will turn 11 in Oct 4th. Wendy is teaching at the grade school there. Steve is retired from teaching but is still coaching HS football.

My son Troy Shadle still lives in Boone. He retired from Century Link....is working the summer months with the city of Boone. He is engaged to Denyese Blunk.

My youngest daughter Kari Dorenbush Saxton and her Husband Dave live in Madrid. The have two sons, Ryley who graduated in 2016 will be 20 on Oct 6 his brother Tanner will be 15 on Oct 5th.

As for me I am enjoying retirement, I go to Mission Texas for part of the winter. Each year I seem to stay longer. So yes they say I am a Winter Texan. I hope to someday be able to go for the whole winter,but as my Mom is still growing strong at 93....I will have to settle for what time I can.

My sister Jo and I did something this summer....We went roller skating! I think some people thought had lost our minds! We were there for her grand daughters BD party. Nice thing there was only about 15 or so skating. Probably saved us a little, we each only fell once.

As you can see my family has been the center of my life.
