Update 2017:
After I retired in 2015, my daughter and I followed the Oregon Trail west to its end in Oregon City.
Driving south through Oregon we visited several lighthouses on the coast and then followed parts of
the Applegate, California, and Santa Fe trails back to the Midwest. Later that year I visited my
son and his family in the Savannah, Georgia area, so I saw the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans for the
first time in the same year. In the past 15 years DIY projects in the house and yard have kept me
busy although I draw the line at doing plumbing and electrical work. Now that my house is remodeled,
I spend time on genealogy research as well as family and craft projects.
