Update 2022:

I can't believe it's 2022! But, I'm glad we're still here, having escaped the plague and that we are healthy and happy. We've been back living in Boone on our acreage since 2012. Galen and I are quite happy with our lovely retirement. Except it's busier than our working days! We loved our careers - he as a grain buyer, me as a RN/Director of Nursing, but we're glad those days are over. I am very active in Democratic politics, working in the background for national/state/local candidates. We have family close by for gatherings - especially all summer here at the Smiling Dog Farm swimming pool. We also have a great "little house on wheels"... our RV "Eagle", which flies us to Blackhawk and beyond for boating vacations. I continue to take travelers on tour to Tuscany. Many of our classmates have shared in my love of this Paradiso and gone with me. Little did I know that the October 2019 tour would be the last - due to COVID - until this past July when I was able to return.

2017 Update:
2017 finds me and my family all healthy and happy. We are looking for a place in Tuscany and will be there during the class reunion. Have a great time!

2014 Update: WHAT??!? How on earth did we get to THAT number? Believe me, i'm not complaining because i'm very grateful to be here and hope to hit many more unbelievable numbers in the future. I just remember being in Miss Ingersoll's 4th grade at Bryant grade school when she asked us to figure out how old we would be in the year 2000. When i saw the number "51" on my paper, I didn't give it a second thought because i would NEVER BE THAT OLD. ha ha haaaa!
So, here's my update: I'M REALLY OLD NOW!
And i've been "retired" since 2001....from "real" work, that is. I'm still hosting small groups of travelers in Tuscany. over the years, those travelers have included our classmates/boone friends (Julie Berg, Linda Ward, Lynne Carper, Terry Dannatt, Jody Berg, Carroll Clabaugh, Ann Gifford, and others....) which makes my "job" so much more fun. I used to have a webpage, but saw no reason to continue paying a fee when I can post information on facebook under "Enchanted Tuscany Tours". Need I mention how much I love my "work"..?..
Galen finally retired last April and we live quite happily in the newest and last "smiling dog farm" just east of the Boone airport. We are really happy to be back home living where lots of family and friends live.
We've got a bunch of kids and grandkids and dogs and cats.
At our 2012 reunion, the attendees decided to have one more BIG reunion - in 2017 - but we decided to call it our "the number that shall not be named".... because no one can comprehend that many years since leaving the hallowed halls of BHS.
Speaking of BHS.... our big old brick building will soon be gone. they had an auction of various things on January 11th, 2014. They have built a further edition on to the previous edition. Blair Park is no longer. i'm not sure what they'll build on the site when our brick building is gone. it's all rather bittersweet.

2012 Update: WOW! It's 2012! Time really really flies when you're having fun! I am so happy to report that me and my family are all happy and healthy. The last few years have brought changes, of course - good and bad. My darling dad, David E. Mondt, passed away on June 11, 2011, and I sure miss him. But we've also had new beginnings - our Jonathan was married on June 5, 2010, to a wonderful young woman, Ela. Our David is still living with us and doing great. The 2 daughters have five kids between them....but we also claim my sisters' grandkiddies as our very own.

Galen is buying corn for Valero Ethanol, but hinting about retiring. I've been retired from nursing for several years because it's much more fun to take people to Tuscany and share the beauty of my favorite place with them. I still get to Boone on a very regular basis to see family and friends. Life is good!

Let's get together to party this year and celebrate the illustrious BHS class of 1967!

2007 Update: the reunion committee is busy planning the party for september 14 and 15, 2007. i hope to see lots of classmates there. we are keeping the get-together very relaxed and informal. more details will be coming soon!

life history: life as a mondt girl was fun. i loved high school and i have wonderful memories of growing up in boone. after several years as an administrative nurse, i quit to start my own business. i take small groups on tour in tuscany. talk about a dream job!
