Evaluation Planning Exercise

Your organization is tackling the issue of childhood obesity by providing and subsidizing healthy snacks at a local high school with the aim of making permanent changes in students’ eating habits.  The organization has records on the previous year’s food purchases.  Under the program, for example, if a bag of chips costs 75 cents at this school, an apple is available for 25 cents.  The programming also involves an educational component with assemblies on healthy options, information handouts, and with special days featuring certain foods.  For example, “Killer carrot” day offered free dips with the purchase of a 25 cent bag of baby carrots. 

Fill out worksheet 6.1 in Winning Grants, suggesting an evaluation structure for this project.  Be creative and assume that your budget will cover all reasonable evaluation costs.
