A mobile phone video from one of the workers attending Carrier\u2019s Feb. 10 announcement soon gained more than four million social media views and was picked up by several news media organizations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\u201cCarrier Air Conditioner (Part of United Technologies) Moving 1,400 Jobs to Mexico,\u201d YouTube, https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Y3ttxGMQOrY.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2016\/11\/30\/media\/carrier-deal-media-divide-on-donald-trump\/index.html\">November 30, 2016<\/a>: CNN anchor Christine Romans, reporting on Trump\u2019s tweet and his coming appearance, said that \u201cterms of the Carrier deal were not released, but there are already questions and critics.\u201d Yet that didn\u2019t prevent her from immediately concluding with \u201cwhat is clear: this was a negotiation, this is a <em>big win<\/em> for Donald Trump. He is making good on his promise to stop companies from shipping jobs overseas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\u201cEarly Start,\u201d CNN, November 30, 2016, http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2016\/11\/30\/media\/carrier-deal-media-divide-on-donald-trump\/index.html.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qT1ZaiQp3dI\">November 30, 2016<\/a>: Anticipating the good news of Trump\u2019s announcement the next day, Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly interviewed two white, male Carrier workers, Paul Roell, a seventeen-year employee and team leader, and T. J. Bray, a fourteen-year employee who had appeared in the November 14 NBC report. She asked the question that the Fox News organization wanted to highlight: as Carrier workers (it\u2019s not necessary for Kelly to say the obvious adjectives: white, male), are they Trump supporters or not?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Megyn Kelly, \u201cCarrier Employees Glad Trump \u2018Lived Up to a Promise,\u2019\u201d Fox News, November 30, 2016, https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qT1ZaiQp3dI.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/dateline\/video\/donald-trump-set-to-announce-deal-to-keep-some-carrier-jobs-in-indianapolis-821757507677\">December 1, 2016<\/a>: Kristen Welker, in a report for the <em>Today Show<\/em>, optimistically previews Trump\u2019s visit to the Carrier plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Kristen Welker, \u201cDonald Trump Set to Announce Deal to Keep Some Carrier Jobs in Indianapolis,\u201d <em>NBC News,<\/em> December 1, 2016, http:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/dateline\/video\/donald-trump-set-to-announce-deal-to-keep-some-carrier-jobs-in-indianapolis-821757507677.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=sWC5HCng3CQ\">December 1, 2016<\/a>: Early in the morning on Dec. 1, before Trump\u2019s announcement at Carrier, <em>Fox &amp; Friends<\/em> host Steve Doocy interviewed another white male, Rick Link, a fifteen-year Carrier employee, to drive home the point that Trump is indeed the ascendant blue-collar president, leading the white working class into the Republican fold.
