  1. Open Audacity (Downloadable for free at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)
  2. Also download (for Macs) http://spaghetticode.org/lame/

Here are some extra instructions on lame downloading if you need them.

3. Upon starting Audacity, it will open up a new Project window for you.

4. Go to the top menu:  Project, Import Audio.  Select an MP3 track.  Audacity will create a new stereo track for the file.  Repeat as needed for additional MP3 tracks.

Hints:

  1. Space Bar or Green “play” button will play tracks.
  2. To listen to one track at a time, select MUTE button on the other tracks.

You can zoom in and out of the waveform view by using the magnifying glass buttons at the top.
