- On Screen, Mae interviews Jackie, brings up Jennifer Batsurri from Achievement Academy in Iowa...displays her academic rankings compared to everyone else (no more college admissions process necessary: all student rankings are transparent). Then interviews Francis. There have been 100 % drop in child abductions. (p. 342)
- Mae tries to call Annie walking away and she doesn't stop. (p. 350)
- Past Perfect: (p. 352): digitizing every photo and video.
- Annie and Mae have forced conversation in the bathroom (p. 354)

- Mae's parents cover most of the SeeChange cameras in their house (p 361)

- Demoxie, (p 400) "it's democracy with your voice, and your moxie"..."it's was the only chance at direct democracy the world had ever known" (Everyone takes surveys constantly, votes constantly) (EX: vegetarian lunch or not?)
- Mae sleeps with Francis (p. 399)
- Mae's friendship with Annie becomes VERY STRAINED (p. 386)
- Kalden urges Mae to not close the circle: "Once it's mandatory to have an account, and once all government services are channeled through the Circle, you'll have helped create the world's first tyrannical monopoly. Does it seem like a good idea to you that a private company would control the flow of all information? That particiaption, at their beck and call, is mandatory? (p. 404).
- Demoxie question: "Is Mae Holland awesome or what?"; EVERYONE MUST VOTE: 97% said yes, 3% said no (this is devastating for Mae--she feels so exposed...how could she be not liked...she is feeling used by everyone (p. 415). There are no such things as natural relationships anymore. She fixates on the 368 people who don't think she's awesome.
- Mae can find out who frowned at her since everything is transparent (p. 418)
- Assembly ("Aspirant Session") where Ty is present. (p. 420); young Circler wannabes come to pitch their idea; Mae will publicize to entire world audience.
- SeeYou: cops can immediately detect which people in a crowd already have past convictions
- Motion sensors to detect violence in the home (figure turns orange and alarm goes off); will also prevent troublemakers in school from acting out.
- Annie's Past Perfect project on her Mayflower family is a disaster: her ancestors were the ringleaders of an Irish slave ring; then in the African slave trade--she would rather not know that.
- Mercer's letter: "We are not meant to know everything" (p. 434)..."There will be those who live under the surveillance dome you're helping create, and those who live, or try to live, apart from it. I'm scared to death for us all" (p. 437)
- Mae only meets Annie in the bathroom (p. 437). Annie now knows that her parents had an "open marriage" (p. 441) with video of their sexual escapades and surveillance footage where they do nothing as homeless guy drops off the end of the pier.
- Mae decides to share Annie's news with the public (p. 447)
- Dream Friday: Mae roots out--with Circler's help--a fugitive: Fiona Highbridge in England. They find her in 10 minutes, 26 seconds. Mercer is target #2; he is hounded to the point of suicide. (p. 466)
- Annie has a mental breakdown
- Kalden is actually Ty (p. 472); 3 Wise Men assemble to watch the sea creatures all placed in the same tank. The transparent shark eats everything in site (this is a metaphor for the Circle). "Mae, you have to help...the Circle can't close"..."How can anyone rise up against the Circle if they control all the information and access to it?" (p. 487-488)
- Bailey's idealism paired with STenton's ruthless capitalistic ambition (p. 489)...
- Ty hands Mae the statement "The Rights of Humans in a Digital Age"...
- She decides to report Ty to Stenton and Bailey.
