Jeffrey Funderburk is professor of tuba and euphonium at The University of Northern Iowa, a position he has held since 1987. Funderburk received his Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees from the University of Illinois and his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Southern Mississippi . His performance credits include 3 solo CDs released with Mark Records ( Passages , Journeys , and Romantic Connections ), 2 CDs as a member of the ensemble ‘Symphonia' as well as orchestral experience with ensembles such as the Detroit Symphony, St. Louis Symphony, Kansas City Symphony and Michigan Opera Theatre. From 1989 to 2010, he was principal tubist with the Cedar Rapids Symphony. He has performed and taught internationally in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Japan, Korea, Germany, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland and Denmark . Dr. Funderburk directs the very popular UNITUBA Ensemble.
